-It has raised my awareness of worldwide interventions and approaches used to meet the challenge of supporting and preparing children for the 21st century
-It has educated me on issues of poverty and that it is all around us. Its consequences are that children won’t be able to reach their full potential or to exit the poverty cycle, and are likely to die from preventable diseases.
Learning about international early childhood has shown me that there are many interventions, organizations, and systems in place to defeat poverty.
-It has called my attention to how demographics influence EC around the world. In addition to calling my attention to adapt our practices, rather than transferring, to the context of a determined local.
I have also found international resources such as https://www.acei.org/
One Goal:
My goal is to keep up to date to the issues and trends in the field through networking, research and sharing information with stakeholders, hoping to raise awareness of how important is the early childhood for children's and the worlds future.

Renata,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your blog. I hope you'll be able to achieve the goals that you have set in place. Raising awareness of the importance of early childhood is a very important issue . Working together and setting goals like these I believe we will all make an impact on our Young Learners. I also became more aware of the impact of poverty and how it impacts our children on a global scale
Thanks again.
Angela.
Networking is a great idea. I have found it to be a great tool. It not only provides me with resources but the families I serve. Thank you for your post. Good luck on future classes.
ReplyDeleteI think I was most influenced by poverty over the course of the semester far more than any of the other concepts. It's truly devastating and as you mentioned, can be applied to any geographic region. There is such a negative connotation to poverty that makes me wonder if that's why it's so difficult to get out of the continuous cycle, families are too embarrassed to ask for help from others. While I believe it takes more than asking for help to make things better, do you think there could be a cure to end the cycle? Do you think that more community involvement could help those in need get the necessary assistance to break the cycle?
