For your blog this week, think about the similarities and differences between how you evaluated yourself as a communicator and how others evaluated you. What is the one thing that surprised you the most? Why? The evaluations were quite similar and within the same range. My results were moderate communication anxiety and moderate verbal aggression. My listening profile was people oriented with very similar scores among the three evaluations. I was surprised to learn I am a people-oriented listener as I tend to be uninterested in others. I also thought my colleague would rate me higher on the verbal aggression, but it was in the same range, moderate. What other insights about communication did you gain this week? Mission Accomplished

At least three deeply felt learnings from this program: Throughout this program I have learned that educators should always strive for social justice and advocate for the well-being of children. I have learned the value of reflection and was encouraged to see diversity as an asset. I have learned that to be what true leadership looks like and that I have the potential to make changes and to empower others to take action and to promote educational practices that positively impact children and the community. Above all I have learned to give back to the community either though taking small steps or embracing big challenges. Team Building

Think about which aspects of the groups made for the hardest good-bye. Are high-performing groups hardest to leave? Groups with the clearest established norms? Which of the groups that you participated in was hardest to leave? Why? I am curious to read other's responses to this week's blog assignment. In general, I don't find it hard to say goodbye to any professional or study groups. I have worked with highly productive and functioning groups, large groups, smaller groups, people who turned out the be great friends, etc. However, I assume that most people would find leaving groups hard to because of the sense of fulfillment, belonging and accomplishments they bring.
