The National Association for the Education of Young Children is an old friend. I have signed up for the Young Children and Teaching Young Children journals again. However, I have never explored the website thoroughly. During my exploration, I have decided to take a closer look into the Voice of Practitioner. A section dedicated to research into the early childhood education field, where questions are raised by teachers and systematic research is done with the overall aim to improve practices and children's well-being:
The major components of teacher research are: conceptualization, in which teachers identify a significant problem or interest and determine relevant research questions; implementation, in which teachers collect and analyze data; and interpretation, in which teachers examine findings for meaning and take appropriate actions (McLean 1995). Teacher research is systematic in that teachers follow specific procedures and carefully document each step of the process.
